In Nutreco we believe in the value of Research & Development as a source of innovative products, concepts and advances in technology. Furthermore, R&D is a resource of valuable advice and technical support to provide to our customers. Our Research & Development makes an important contribution to improving the sustainability of Nutreco and of our customers.

Our commitment to R&D is fulfilled through the running of eight research centres focusing on various aspects of Nutreco activities. Although these are located in four countries - the Netherlands, Spain, Canada and Norway - there is extensive interchange of ideas and knowledge between them to capture synergies and avoid duplicated effort.

We have research centres that focus on the nutrition, health and husbandry of pigs, poultry, rabbits, ruminants, calves and fish. Other research activities are directed to ingredient assessment and improving feed production technology; we have pilot-scale feed production plants in the Netherlands, Norway and Spain. In addition, we conduct R&D to advance our knowledge of food production. Between them, these centres employ 150 people. Nutreco laboratories in the Netherlands, Spain, Canada and Norway support our research activities.
