Nutreco today published its Impact Report 2025, bringing together performance data, learnings and stories from Skretting and Trouw Nutrition in a single, consolidated publication.

The report marks the final year of Nutreco’s Sustainability RoadMap 2025 and reflects five years of progress in embedding sustainability across the business. Sustainability is now firmly integrated into how Nutreco operates, invests and innovates; Skretting and Trouw Nutrition have driven clear progress across climate and environment, animal health and welfare, health and safety, and governance. At the same time, the Impact Report is open about areas where progress has been more complex, reinforcing Nutreco’s commitment to transparent and balanced reporting.

This Impact Report 2025 marks a clear milestone. It shows where we've made progress and where focus and commitment are still needed as we continue to help build a more resilient and sustainable food system.

Strong Results in Operations

In 2025, Nutreco delivered strong results in reducing the environmental footprint of its own operations. The company achieved a 47% reduction in scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared to its 2018 baseline and eliminated the use of coal and oil across its operations.

Progress advanced on circularity: 90% of packaging is now recyclable, reusable or compostable. Responsible sourcing continued with 88% of marine ingredients sourced through a Fishery Improvement Project, supporting more sustainable aquaculture value chains.

People remain foundational to the strategy. Nutreco prioritised health and safety, advanced diversity and inclusion, and strengthened ethical conduct and integrity, with governance, strategy and actions clearly set out. In 2025, women represented 29% of senior management, reflecting deliberate efforts to build a more inclusive leadership.

Skretting and Trouw Nutrition: Enabling Customers and Partners to Progress

Skretting and Trouw Nutrition are the engine of Nutreco’s sustainability approach, supporting farmers and food producers to meet rising expectations around climate, animal wellbeing and responsible production, while maintaining productivity and profitability.

Through sciencebased nutrition, innovation, digital tools and advisory services, both businesses deliver solutions deployed on farms and in feed mills around the world. These solutions improve animal health and welfare, reduce environmental impact, and support livelihoods, translating ambition into measurable outcomes for customers.

Transparency on Gaps and Challenges, RoadMap 2030 Sharpened

Nutreco’s Impact Report is transparent about the gaps and challenges that remain. While meaningful progress was made in 2025, several priorities advanced slower than the 2025 roadmap anticipated, requiring different strategies and deeper alignment with customer realities.

These insights have sharpened RoadMap 2030, which builds on the 2025 foundation with clearer priorities, stronger accountability, and closer alignment with global sciencebased targets. The roadmap retains three strategic pillars - Climate and environment, Good Citizenship and livelihoods, and Animal Welfare - and places greater emphasis on enabling customers’ sustainability transitions through practical, scalable solutions that support resilient global food and feed systems.
